The Westside Road Improvement Committee (WRIC) was formed to improve communications between
the community and the Ministry of Transport to improve Westside Road BC located
on the Westside of Okanagan Lake B.C. The Ministry of Transportation calls
(WRIC) the Westside Road Improvement Committee according to the letter below
regarding meeting at La Casa.

Information Session March 10, 2011
Residents of Westside Road and area are
invited to attend an information session where staff from the
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will present an update
on improvement plans for Westside Road between Bear Creek Park and
Highway 97 North at O’Keefe Ranch.
The session is being held on
Thursday March 10th, 2011 starting at 7 p.m. in the
event centre of the LaCasa Cottage Resort 6808 Westside Road N.
Representatives of the Ministry of
Transportation and Infrastructure will present an overview of
planning work to date along the corridor and discuss the
implementation strategy for future improvements.

This is a map where La Casa is located along Westside Road.
La Casa is located approx. 2 km's south (Kelowna side) of Fintry Provincial
Park. The meeting will be held in the upper castle looking building at La
Casa.

The Ministry of Transportation ran out of money to complete the Traders Cove to
Pine Point road construction project. This phase should be completed in
late spring or early summer of 2008. If there are any monies left over in
2008, the engineering for the phase north of La Casa will begin with a target of
work being done in 2009.

WRIC worked with the MOT and MLA Rick Thorpe to bring the
Bear Lake Main to Pine Point Road Construction Project into being.
