Freedom of expression is a cornerstone of a functioning democracy. Freedom of expression promotes certain societal values, as noted by Professor Emerson in 1963: "Maintenance of a system of free expression is necessary (1) as assuring individual self-fulfillment, (2) as a means of attaining the truth, (3) as a method of securing participation by the members of the society in social, including political, decision-making, and (4) as maintaining the balance between stability and change in society." Our constitutional commitment to free speech is predicated on the belief that a free society cannot function with coercive legal censorship in the hands of persons supporting one ideology who are motivated to use the power of the censor to suppress opposing viewpoints.

Dusty did finally reply and said he was busy. He said quote, and the info we all need to see wayne carsons has...and he should publish it on the north westside community web site for all to have access too.
okanaganlakebc.ca have asked RDCO to supply information about the Fire Boat and so far there has not been one stitch of information. Its too bad that people like Dusty in the know spout off without divulging much for information when they are the ones with the information. That is just how the Fire Dept, RDCO and some of the NWCA members operate. It is shameful to say the least. Why is it the least residents know the better huh?? And why after we emailed Dusty asking him for the information did he not reply? Is it because he just likes to spout off?

it's too bad that this information about the fire boat and all specifications and prices are incorrect. dave robertson has been given the accurate documentation about the boat. all you people reading this should take the time to contact myself or the northwestside fire dept and get the accurate specs..it was doug schellenberg and myself that spec'd the boat so i know i'm reading about of mis information here...cheers to your effort here but let's reprint this accurately please...eg pump listed here is for 195 gallons per minute...actual pump is 1000 plus gallons per minute...
A fire truck on water? WTF...hey why not a Hovercraft? Yeah! Or maybe fly a plane thru a storm without GPS? Brilliant! Or maybe...drop a SeaDoo into one of the ponds and hook up a firehose to the jet? YEAH!!! Sheesh...

If people were smart they would invest their money into something that would pay back their loss. The fire dept does not compensate for loss. Insurance companies compensate for loss. Out of the last three house fires, not one house was saved!
Well all you need is a fire engine Pumper on water,I am certain with the right kind of common sense, and some research of course, Our Professionals will discover that all that is needed is a merge of a Boat system and a pump system, having dealt with both over the course of 20 yrs ,I believe the staionary pump is an expensive and stupid costly mistake, a fiberglass would an accident waiting to happen and a pontoon boat would get weathered to death, there are a lot of ideas but a fire truck on water is all that is needed ,it will pump up to the old mine if the wanted to pay the intall of a dry pump as for the rest of us ,its all in the design and its all in the making ,So LET THE PROFESSIONALS DEAL WITH IT AND COMPLAIN WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU CAN PHYSICALLY WHINE ABOUT <
