COMMENTS
Some of the MoF comments re spruce budworm are unbelievable. Once the tree has lost most of it's needles -it will NOT recover. Often the crowns are eaten first, sending the tree into shock which it does NOT recover from. You can see lots of evidence of the above in the Daves Rd/Goudie Rd area of Joe Rich. The Ministry, generally, has been less than forthcoming and honest, in presenting the facts to the Joe Rich community. Since their attempts to spray last year, which was followed by rain shortly thereafter, hundreds of more trees have died in the area. In otherwords the population did NOT collapse! The danger of an immense/quick forest fire in this area is very real.
